Boschendal's Le Grand Pavillon Blanc de Blancs Brut is a vibrant celebration of the estate's French Huguenot heritage, drawing inspiration from the classic pavilion architecture that graces this historic property. Crafted from Chardonnay grapes grown in the cool-climate maritime vineyards of the Coastal Region, this sparkling wine is designed to showcase fresh, fruit-driven elegance. To preserve the pristine, primary fruit characteristics and vivacious acidity of the grape, it is typically crafted using the Charmat method (tank fermentation). The cool afternoon breezes from the nearby ocean temper the Western Cape heat, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop delicate citrus and green apple aromas, resulting in an exceptionally refreshing and approachable sparkling wine.

Established in 1685 by Huguenot settler Jean le Long and developed by the De Villiers family, Boschendal is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa. Anchored in the Groot Drakenstein Valley between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, the estate's vineyards span granite, sandstone, and alluvial terraces sheltered by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountain ranges. This dramatic topographical setting yields a Mediterranean macroclimate defined by cool mountain breezes, dry summers, and generous winter rainfall, delivering vibrant natural acidity. Viticulture adheres to rigorous environmental stewardship as a WWF Conservation Champion and Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) practitioner.
