Hailing from one of Volnay's most famous Premier Cru vineyards, 'Les Caillerets', the 'Ancienne Cuvée Carnot' carries a rich historical legacy. The parcel was originally acquired in 1775 by the Carnot family, ancestors of the French President Sadi Carnot, before being purchased by Bouchard Père & Fils in 1889. The terroir here is defined by its extremely stony, limestone-rich soils—'cailles' translating to pebbles—which impart a distinct mineral tension and ethereal elegance to the wine. This Pinot Noir is celebrated for its exquisite silkiness, floral aromatics, and structured complexity, representing the quintessential feminine grace of Volnay combined with a surprising capacity to age, nurtured in the historic cellars of the Château de Beaune.
