This exceptional Premier Cru bottling is born from the historic Hospices de Beaune charity auction, where the prestigious house of Bouchard Père & Fils selects and nurtures individual barrels to maturity in their historic cellars. The 'Cuvée Général Muteau' honors General Hector-Albert Muteau, a highly decorated cavalry officer and Grand Officer of the Légion d'Honneur, who bequeathed his extensive estate and prime vineyard holdings to the Hospices in 1926. The cuvée is crafted from select Volnay Premier Cru parcels, including Carelle sous la Chapelle, Taille Pieds, and Fremiets. This pedigree yields a wine of sublime elegance, characterized by its perfumed floral aromas, bright red berry fruit, and the famously silky, lace-like tannins characteristic of Volnay's limestone-rich soils.

Bouchard Père & Fils blev grundlagt i 1731 af Michel Bouchard og er et af Bourgognes ældste og mest agtede vinhuse, med base i det historiske Château de Beaune fra det 15. århundrede.
