Planted in 1972 on the Brokenwood property in the Hunter Valley, the 7 Acre block is situated adjacent to the legendary Graveyard Vineyard. This historic plot of Shiraz thrives in the region's classic clay loam soils, producing a wine that exemplifies the traditional, medium-bodied Hunter Valley style. Unlike the bolder, more robust Shiraz styles found in warmer Australian regions, the 7 Acre Shiraz is celebrated for its savory complexity, bright red-fruit profile, and elegant structure. The vineyard's unique terroir imparts a distinct earthy character, complemented by fine, silky tannins and balanced acidity. Crafted with minimal intervention and aged in French oak, this single-vineyard release captures the essence of Brokenwood's early history and their commitment to showcasing site-specific purity.
