Hailing from the historic cellars of Buller Wines in Victoria, Australia, the Fine Old Tawny is a liquid testament to over a century of fortified winemaking mastery. Established in 1921, Buller has long been celebrated for its luscious, barrel-aged treasures. This Tawny is crafted from traditional red varieties, which are fortified with premium grape spirit and matured in seasoned oak casks within the winery's warm cellars. Through years of gentle evaporation and oxidation, the wine develops its signature amber-brown hue and a complex bouquet of raisins, toffee, and roasted nuts, capturing the warm, sun-drenched terroir of the region.

Established in 1921 by Reginald Langdon Buller, Buller Wines is an architectural benchmark of North-East Victoria's historic Rutherglen district. The estate centres around the historic 22-hectare Calliope Vineyard, where century-old, dry-grown vines thrive in deep alluvial loam and gravel over red clay. Benefiting from hot, sunny days and cool nocturnal air drainage off the Victorian Alps, the estate enjoys extended hang-time essential for late harvesting and desiccation. Owned by the Judd family since 2013, winemaking is overseen by chief winemaker Dave Whyte, balancing traditional practices with contemporary precision. Buller is world-renowned for its transcendent fortified wines—notably Rare Muscat, Fine Old Muscat, and Tokay (Topaque)—aged through complex, multi-tiered solera systems that confer immense concentration, rancio complexity, and mahogany depth.
