The name Falde refers to the undulating skirts or slopes of Mount Etna, where the dramatic interplay of black volcanic earth, high-altitude sunshine, and cooling Mediterranean breezes shapes the character of the vines. This wine is crafted from indigenous Sicilian white grape varieties, primarily Catarratto and Carricante. Traditionally grown on the lower slopes, these grapes benefit from mineral-rich soils, yielding a wine that captures the bright, saline essence of the Sicilian coast. Founded in 1898 by Francesco Nicosia, Cantine Nicosia is a historic Sicilian estate situated on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in Trecastagni.
