Hailing from the sun-drenched hills of Sicily, Cantine Nicosia's Falde Rosso is a vibrant expression of the island's modern winemaking renaissance. The name 'Falde' refers to the slopes or skirts of the hills, hinting at the diverse topography where these grapes thrive. This red blend harmoniously marries Sicily's signature native red grape, Nero d'Avola, with the international Syrah, which has found a highly congenial second home in the island's warm climate and varied soils. Crafted to highlight fresh fruit character rather than heavy oak influence, the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. This preserves the bright, juicy red berry aromas and Mediterranean herb notes that define its approachable, convivial personality. It is a testament to Nicosia's ability to craft wines that are both deeply rooted in Sicilian tradition and effortlessly accessible.

Cantine Nicosia blev grundlagt i 1898 af Francesco Nicosia på Etnas østlige skråninger og har gennem fem generationer udviklet sig til en af de fremmeste ambassadører for siciliansk vindyrkning. I dag drives vinhuset af Carmelo Nicosia sammen med sønnerne Francesco og Graziano, som i tæt samarbejde med chefønolog Maria Carella forener moderne præcision i kælderen med dybe regionale traditioner. Markerne er fordelt over øens vigtigste mikroklimaer – herunder de terrasserede skråninger med vulkansk sand og forvitret lava ved Monte Gorna nær Trecastagni i cirka 700 meters højde, samt det kalkrige terroir i Vittoria. Med certificeret økologisk dyrkning og vegansk certificerede metoder lægger Nicosia stor vægt på Siciliens oprindelige druesorter. Husets toneangivende hvidvine – lige fra enkeltdruevinene på Grillo, Inzolia og Catarratto i Generazione Mille898-serien til vulkansk Etna Bianco og de aromatiske Balanubi-aftapninger – udmærker sig ved en mineralsk nerve, saltet renhed og en udtalt, autentisk sortsidentitet.
