Hailing from Cantine Nicosia's dedicated organic line, the Fondo Filara Bio Nero d'Avola celebrates Sicily's most famous indigenous red grape. Grown in vineyards that benefit from the intense Sicilian sun and cooling maritime breezes, this organic expression showcases the grape's historical legacy, which dates back to ancient Greek settlers who first cultivated vines on the island. The wine is crafted with a focus on purity and sustainability, fermenting in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the vibrant, sun-drenched fruit character and terroir-driven minerality characteristic of Sicily's clay and limestone soils.

Founded in 1898 by Francesco Nicosia, Cantine Nicosia is a historic family-owned winery located in Trecastagni on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. Today, under the stewardship of Carmelo Nicosia and his sons, the estate champions sustainable and organic viticulture across its high-altitude volcanic vineyards, particularly on the ancient Monte Gorna crater. The winery is highly renowned for its expressive Etna DOC wines crafted from indigenous varieties like Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, as well as its elegant Sosta Tre Santi Metodo Classico sparkling wines.
