🍷 Vintage Profile

The 2021 growing season across the Marche was characterized by early spring frost risks followed by an extended, dry summer that limited fungal pressure and promoted pristine grape health under organic management. Cooler coastal night breezes throughout August and September preserved Sangiovese's bright natural acidity while allowing the later-ripening Montepulciano to achieve full phenolic maturity and ripe, structured tannins without excess alcohol. The resulting wines display concentrated dark cherry and blackberry profiles accented by energetic tension and firm structural grip. Fully approachable and drinking at its peak in 2026, this vintage will maintain its integrity and freshness through 2028.

✨ Technical Specifications

Crafted as a fresh and expressive interpretation of the Rosso Piceno denomination, Viabore combines Montepulciano and Sangiovese harvested from hillside vineyards situated between 200 and 300 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils. The grapes undergo traditional temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel tanks with brief macerations designed to preserve bright fruit vibrancy and limit harsh tannin extraction, followed by maturation purely in stainless steel prior to bottling.

🍾 About the Producer

Established in 1928 by Giovanni Carminucci, Casa Vinicola Carminucci has evolved across generations into a benchmark estate of southern Marche. Directed by Giovanni's son, Piero Carminucci, the family shifted from bulk distribution to estate-bottled artisanal excellence in the late 1990s. The estate stewards approximately 45 hectares of vineyards strategically dispersed between the rolling hillside terroirs of Offida and coastal Grottammare within the province of Ascoli Piceno. Situated between 200 and 300 meters above sea level on mineral-laden clay soils, the vines benefit from significant diurnal shifts and persistent Adriatic breezes. Cultivated sustainably adhering to organic viticultural practices with zero synthetic chemical intervention, low yields, and meticulous cluster thinning, the winery emphasizes clarity and varietal typicity. Vinification balances precise temperature-controlled stainless steel aging with seasoned French oak maturation, championing the classic regional blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese seen in cuvΓ©es like Viabore Rosso Piceno and Naumakos, alongside benchmark indigenous whites such as Belato Offida Pecorino.
