Nestled at the foot of the majestic Andes Mountains in the Colchagua Valley, the Los Lingues estate is the crown jewel of Casa Silva's Carmenere program. This wine is deeply tied to the dramatic history of Carmenere, the 'lost grape of Bordeaux' that was rediscovered in Chile in 1994 after being mistaken for Merlot for over a century. Casa Silva has conducted some of the industry's most exhaustive micro-terroir studies on this grape at Los Lingues. The vineyard benefits from cool breezes blowing down from the Andes slopes, creating a unique microclimate with wide diurnal temperature shifts. This slow ripening process allows the Carmenere to develop its signature velvety tannins, vibrant dark fruit flavors, and classic notes of fresh cracked pepper and sweet paprika without losing its refreshing acidity. The wine is traditionally aged in French oak barrels to add structure and complexity.
