Casa Silva was a true pioneer in exploring the coastal frontier of Paredones, situated a mere seven kilometers from the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean. This 'Cool Coast' terroir is heavily influenced by the Humboldt Current, which brings morning fogs and cooling breezes that slow the ripening process. While Sauvignon Blanc is the region's standard-bearer, Casa Silva took a bold step by planting Sauvignon Gris, a rare, pink-skinned mutation of Sauvignon Blanc originally from Bordeaux. Thriving in the decomposed granite and clay soils of Paredones, this grape produces a wine of remarkable texture and complexity. Hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, it showcases a beautiful balance of fresh acidity, mineral tension, and a signature saline finish that pays homage to its maritime origin.
