The Saint Felicien range by Catena Zapata holds a legendary place in Argentine wine history, famously debuting in 1963 as the country's first varietally labeled wine, adorned with elegant labels designed by renowned local artists. This Semillon pays tribute to that pioneering spirit, sourced from the historic, cool-climate clay soils of Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo. Historically, Semillon was one of Argentina's most widely planted white varieties, and Catena Zapata preserves this heritage by crafting a wine of striking texture and complexity. Fermented and partially aged in oak, it captures the classic, slightly waxy character of the grape, balancing vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes with subtle hints of honey, chamomile, and toasted nuts.

Bodega Catena Zapata blev grundlagt i 1902 af den italienske immigrant Nicola Catena og regnes i dag for den ubestridte pioner inden for moderne argentinsk vindyrkning. I 1980'erne og 1990'erne revolutionerede familiens visionære tredjegenerationsfrontfigur, Nicolás Catena Zapata, landets vinindustri ved at søge mod ekstreme højder i Andesbjergene. Det mest markante resultat var etableringen af den berømte Adrianna Vineyard i Gualtallary i næsten 1.500 meters højde. Vingården ledes i dag af dr. Laura Catena sammen med den anerkendte chefvinmager Alejandro Vigil. Sammen kombinerer de dybdegående forskning i mikroklimaer og terroir via Catena Institute of Wine med præcisionsdyrkning i alluviale, kalkholdige grusjorde.
