Named in honor of Angélica Zapata, the matriarch of the Catena family who instilled a relentless pursuit of excellence in her children, this Cabernet Sauvignon Alta represents the family's dedication to unlocking the potential of high-altitude terroirs in Mendoza. Sourced primarily from the historic La Pirámide vineyard in Agrelo, situated at nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, the vines benefit from intense mountain sunlight and cool alpine nights. This unique microclimate allows the late-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon to achieve optimal phenolic maturity while retaining vibrant acidity. Founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, Bodega Catena Zapata is the preeminent pioneer of modern Argentine viticulture.
