Named after the historic Scuttle Hole Road that borders the estate in Bridgehampton, Channing Daughters Scuttlehole Chardonnay is a vibrant celebration of Long Island's maritime terroir. Unlike heavily oaked styles, this cuvée is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel tanks, allowing the pure expression of the Chardonnay grape and the unique local soils to shine. The vineyards benefit from the cooling breezes of the Atlantic Ocean and the Peconic Bay, which moderate the climate and preserve a crisp, mouthwatering acidity in the grapes. The resulting wine is a lively, mineral-driven white that captures the breezy, coastal essence of the East End, defined by bright citrus, green apple notes, and a distinct saline finish born of its sandy, glacial loam soils.
