Sylvanus Vineyard, planted in 1999 in Bridgehampton, is one of Channing Daughters' most distinctive sites, named after the Roman deity of forests and fields. This wine highlights Tocai Friulano, a grape native to northeastern Italy that has found an unexpected but highly successful home in the maritime climate of Long Island's South Fork. Grown in Bridgehampton silt loam soils, the grapes benefit from cool ocean breezes that preserve acidity and prolong the growing season. The winery employs artisanal, low-intervention techniques, often utilizing wild yeast fermentation and neutral oak or stainless steel aging to preserve the grape's delicate floral, bitter almond, and mineral nuances. This bottling represents a bridge between Old World Friulian tradition and modern East End innovation.

Founded by Walter Channing with initial vineyard plantings dating back to 1982 in Bridgehampton on Long Island's South Fork, Channing Daughters Winery stands as one of New York's most inventive and boundary-pushing artisanal producers.
