The Marsannay Rouge from Château de Marsannay is a definitive expression of the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Historically known as the 'Golden Gate' to this prestigious sub-region, Marsannay has a viticultural legacy dating back to the Dukes of Burgundy. This cuvée is crafted from Pinot Noir grown on complex soils of hard limestone, crinoidal limestone, and clay-marl. The estate employs traditional Burgundian vinification, utilizing gravity-fed systems and aging in French oak casks. The resulting wine captures the classic Marsannay character: a robust structure, vibrant red fruit profile, and an earthy complexity that reflects the unique microclimates of the region.

Situated in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Château de Marsannay is a premier Burgundy estate with a rich heritage, currently owned by Olivier Halley who acquired the property in 2012. The estate manages approximately 40 hectares of meticulously farmed vineyards, spanning prestigious appellations from Marsannay to Gevrey-Chambertin and the Grand Cru Echezeaux. Committed to organic viticulture, the château employs traditional Burgundian vinification methods, aging its wines in French oak casks to express the precise nuances of each unique climat. Château de Marsannay is particularly celebrated for its diverse portfolio, which uniquely includes exceptional red, white, and rosé expressions, such as the historic En Montre Cul and Les Echezots.
