This historic cuvée represents a unique partnership between Château de Marsannay and the ancient Hôpital de Dijon (Hospice de Dijon). Named in honor of Jean de Berbisey, a prominent 16th-century president of the Parliament of Burgundy and a major benefactor of the hospital, this wine is sourced from historic vineyard parcels originally bequeathed to the charitable institution. Under the stewardship of Château de Marsannay, these vines are cultivated with organic principles. The resulting wine is a classic expression of Pinot Noir, vinified using traditional Burgundian techniques and aged in French oak casks. It captures the distinct, often overlooked terroir of the historic slopes of Dijon, offering a beautiful balance of bright red fruit, earthy complexity, and elegant structure that pays homage to centuries of local winemaking heritage.
