Chateau Tanunda's Grand Barossa Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre is a classic expression of the traditional Southern Rhone-style blend, reimagined in the historic soils of the Barossa Valley. Sourced from selected vineyards across the region, this wine pays homage to the early European settlers who planted these varieties in the late 19th century. The Grenache provides vibrant raspberry and cherry fruit with a soft, fleshy mid-palate; the Shiraz contributes structural depth, dark plum notes, and black pepper spice; while the Mourvedre anchors the blend with savory earthiness, gamey complexity, and fine-grained tannins. Fermented in traditional open fermenters and aged in seasoned oak, it captures the warm-climate generosity and historic soul of the Barossa.

Chateau Tanunda blev grundlagt i 1890 og står i dag som et ikonisk vartegn i det berømte Barossa Valley i South Australia samt en sand hjørnesten i regionens rige vinhistorie. Den historiske ejendom, opført i karakteristiske blåsten, gennemgik en omhyggelig restaurering efter Geber-familiens overtagelse i 1998 og forener i dag traditionelt håndværk med moderne vinifikation i absolut særklasse. Vingården er dybt forankret i sit historiske terroir og værner om nogle af verdens ældste overlevende vinstokke, hvilket kommer smukt til udtryk i den anmelderroste serie Old Vine Expressions.
