Chateau Tanunda's Matthews Road Shiraz is a beautifully crafted expression of South Australian winemaking, drawing on the rich viticultural heritage of the Barossa region. The wine is named after Matthews Road, reflecting the historic pathways and vineyard sites that have shaped the region's landscape since the late 19th century. Made with fruit selected for its vibrant character, the wine undergoes fermentation in traditional open fermenters before being aged in seasoned French and American oak barrels. This process preserves the bright, juicy dark fruit characteristics of the grape while imparting subtle notes of spice, vanilla, and structured tannins, embodying the classic, generous style of Australian Shiraz with a contemporary, approachable elegance.

Chateau Tanunda blev grundlagt i 1890 og står i dag som et ikonisk vartegn i det berømte Barossa Valley i South Australia samt en sand hjørnesten i regionens rige vinhistorie. Den historiske ejendom, opført i karakteristiske blåsten, gennemgik en omhyggelig restaurering efter Geber-familiens overtagelse i 1998 og forener i dag traditionelt håndværk med moderne vinifikation i absolut særklasse.
