Chateau Tanunda's 'Parishes' range pays homage to the unique pioneer history of the Barossa Valley, which was historically divided into distinct church parishes by early European settlers in the mid-19th century. Each parish boasts its own microclimate, soil composition, and viticultural heritage. While the Barossa is legendary for its robust Shiraz, this Merlot showcases a different side of the valley's terroir. Sourced from select vineyard parcels across these historic parishes, the wine is crafted to highlight Merlot's plush, velvety texture. Traditional winemaking techniques, including fermentation in open fermenters and aging in seasoned oak barrels, help preserve the vibrant dark fruit character, subtle dried herb notes, and soft, approachable tannins that define this elegant South Australian expression.

Chateau Tanunda blev grundlagt i 1890 og står i dag som et ikonisk vartegn i det berømte Barossa Valley i South Australia samt en sand hjørnesten i regionens rige vinhistorie. Den historiske ejendom, opført i karakteristiske blåsten, gennemgik en omhyggelig restaurering efter Geber-familiens overtagelse i 1998 og forener i dag traditionelt håndværk med moderne vinifikation i absolut særklasse.
