While Chateau Tanunda is legendary for its historic, old-vine Barossa Valley reds, 'The Chateau' Single Vineyard Chardonnay highlights the diverse microclimates of South Australia. Sourced from a select single vineyard in the cooler, high-altitude Eden Valley, this wine captures the elegant side of the region. The grapes benefit from cool night breezes and ancient soils, allowing them to ripen slowly and retain a vibrant natural acidity. Crafted using traditional techniques, including fermentation in French oak barrels and selective lees stirring, this Chardonnay beautifully balances bright citrus and stone fruit characters with a delicate, creamy texture and subtle toasted oak complexity.

Chateau Tanunda blev grundlagt i 1890 og står i dag som et ikonisk vartegn i det berømte Barossa Valley i South Australia samt en sand hjørnesten i regionens rige vinhistorie. Den historiske ejendom, opført i karakteristiske blåsten, gennemgik en omhyggelig restaurering efter Geber-familiens overtagelse i 1998 og forener i dag traditionelt håndværk med moderne vinifikation i absolut særklasse. Vingården er dybt forankret i sit historiske terroir og værner om nogle af verdens ældste overlevende vinstokke, hvilket kommer smukt til udtryk i den anmelderroste serie Old Vine Expressions.
