The Marienburg Fahrlay Riesling Beerenauslese is a masterpiece of extreme viticulture, born from the steep, dizzying slopes of Pünderich in the Mosel. The Fahrlay parcel is legendary for its intense, hard blue slate soils, which yield wines of striking minerality and laser-like acidity. To craft a Beerenauslese, Clemens Busch relies on the magical touch of botrytis cinerea (noble rot). In favorable years, highly skilled pickers meticulously harvest individual shriveled, sugar-concentrated berries by hand on these near-vertical cliffs. Fermented slowly with native yeasts, this rare nectar balances luscious, honeyed sweetness with the vibrant, electric acidity characteristic of the blue slate, resulting in a wine of profound depth, complexity, and ethereal lightness.

Situated in the picturesque village of Pünderich along the dramatic slopes of Germany's Middle Mosel, Weingut Clemens Busch has been led by Clemens and Rita Busch since taking over the historic family estate in the 1980s. Regarded as pioneering trailblazers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate is dedicated to natural, low-intervention winemaking that deeply respects the ecosystem. Their work centers around the legendary, south-facing Pündericher Marienburg hillside, where varying sub-parcels of gray, red, and blue slate are vinified separately to showcase pure terroir expression.
