The vineyard itself takes its name from a former Franciscan convent, Marienburg, which once stood high above the Mosel loop. In this dramatic amphitheater of slate, Clemens Busch meticulously selects botrytis-affected grapes by hand to craft this liquid gold. The Gold Capsule designation is a traditional Mosel indicator of an Auslese of exceptional concentration, sweetness, and complexity, far exceeding standard bottling requirements. Fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and aged with patience, this wine captures the intense minerality of the Marienburg's diverse slate soils, balanced by a vibrant, electric acidity that prevents the luscious sweetness from ever feeling heavy.

Situated in the picturesque village of Pünderich along the dramatic slopes of Germany's Middle Mosel, Weingut Clemens Busch has been led by Clemens and Rita Busch since taking over the historic family estate in the 1980s. Regarded as pioneering trailblazers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate is dedicated to natural, low-intervention winemaking that deeply respects the ecosystem. Their work centers around the legendary, south-facing Pündericher Marienburg hillside, where varying sub-parcels of gray, red, and blue slate are vinified separately to showcase pure terroir expression.
