The Pündericher Marienburg vineyard is a legendary steep slope of the Mosel, and the Rothenpfad parcel is particularly famous for its unique vein of weathered red slate. This 'red path' soil, rich in iron oxide, imparts a distinctively warm, spicy, and exotic character to the Riesling. Under the meticulous biodynamic care of Clemens Busch, the grapes for this Auslese are selectively hand-harvested when perfectly affected by noble rot (botrytis). Fermented spontaneously in traditional large oak Fuder casks, this wine represents a harmonious marriage of rich, concentrated sweetness and vibrant, mineral-driven acidity, reflecting a winemaking heritage deeply intertwined with the historic Marienburg site, once home to a historic convent.

Situated in the picturesque village of Pünderich along the dramatic slopes of Germany's Middle Mosel, Weingut Clemens Busch has been led by Clemens and Rita Busch since taking over the historic family estate in the 1980s. Regarded as pioneering trailblazers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate is dedicated to natural, low-intervention winemaking that deeply respects the ecosystem. Their work centers around the legendary, south-facing Pündericher Marienburg hillside, where varying sub-parcels of gray, red, and blue slate are vinified separately to showcase pure terroir expression.
