Hailing from the historic Pündericher Nonnengarten vineyard, this Riesling carries a rich legacy tied to its name, which translates to 'Nuns' Garden'—a nod to the nearby Marienburg convent whose sisters once tended these lands. Unlike the sheer, dizzying cliffs of the neighboring Marienburg, the Nonnengarten vineyard features slightly gentler slopes with soils composed of grey slate blended with loam and clay. Under the meticulous biodynamic care of Clemens Busch, the grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously using native yeasts in traditional, large oak Fuder casks. This minimal-intervention approach coaxes out a beautifully expressive, highly aromatic Riesling characterized by vibrant orchard fruit, delicate herbal undertones, and a refined, saline minerality.

Situated in the picturesque village of Pünderich along the dramatic slopes of Germany's Middle Mosel, Weingut Clemens Busch has been led by Clemens and Rita Busch since taking over the historic family estate in the 1980s. Regarded as pioneering trailblazers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate is dedicated to natural, low-intervention winemaking that deeply respects the ecosystem. Their work centers around the legendary, south-facing Pündericher Marienburg hillside, where varying sub-parcels of gray, red, and blue slate are vinified separately to showcase pure terroir expression.
