✨ wine.spec_sheet

Named in honor of Anna de Codorniu, the last heir of the family dynasty who married Miquel Raventos in 1659, this Cava represents a historic milestone. Introduced in 1984, it was the very first Cava to incorporate Chardonnay into its blend, forever transforming the region's sparkling identity. Crafted using the traditional method, the Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the continental climate of Lleida, which imparts rich tropical fruit notes and structure, while the classic Catalan trio of Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada from the Penedes region provides freshness, citrus aromas, and floral complexity. Aged on its lees for a minimum of 15 months, this Reserva cuvee strikes a beautiful balance between vibrant, youthful fruit and the delicate, yeasty complexity of brioche.

Founded in 1551, Codorníu is Spain's oldest family business and a pioneering force in the creation of Cava, located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia within the Penedès region. In 1872, Josep Raventós Fatjó made history by producing the country's first traditional-method sparkling wine, establishing a legacy of innovation that continues to define the house today. The winery is celebrated for its historic modernist cellars, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, where they craft elegant white and rosé sparkling wines. Codorníu is particularly renowned for introducing international varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to the region, showcased in iconic expressions such as the Anna de Codorníu range and the prestigious ARS Collecta micro-terroir series.
