Sourced entirely from 'La Pleta,' a prestigious single-vineyard parcel (Paraje Calificado) in the continental climate of Raimat, this 100% Chardonnay Cava thrives on shallow, clay-loam soils. The extreme diurnal temperature shifts of the region preserve a vibrant acidity, while the traditional method aging—often exceeding 90 months on the lees—bestows an extraordinary complexity. The result is a sparkling wine of majestic structure, weaving together notes of ripe stone fruit, toasted brioche, and a profound mineral core that reflects its unique terroir.

Tracing its viticultural origins to 1551 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Codorníu stands as Spain's oldest documented wine enterprise and the cradle of Cava, catalyzed in 1872 when Josep Raventós Fatjó produced the nation's inaugural traditional-method sparkling wine. The estate is anchored by its modernist cellars, designated a National Artistic Historical Monument, designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. Viticulturally, Codorníu encompasses diverse Catalan terroirs spanning the Mediterranean loam of the Alt Penedès, the continental alluvial terraces of Costers del Segre, and the slate and schist elevations of Conca de Barberà. In 2024, the house completed a transition across all estate vineyards to 100% certified organic farming.
