Compass Box's Experimental Grain Whisky is a testament to the blending house's boundary-pushing philosophy. This unique release highlights a fascinating quirk in Scotch whisky regulations: a portion of the blend is made from 100% malted barley distilled in a continuous Loch Lomond Coffey still, legally classifying it as a grain whisky rather than a single malt. Combined with conventional grain whiskies sourced from Cameronbridge, this expression challenges the traditional, often overlooked reputation of grain whiskies. It offers an incredibly rich, textured canvas featuring notes of soft peat smoke, vanilla, and sweet orchard fruits, showcasing the art of creative blending at its finest.
