Art & Decadence is a lavish limited-edition blended malt Scotch whisky from the innovative blending house Compass Box. Inspired by the Decadent Movement of the late 19th century—which championed aestheticism, beauty, and art for art's sake—this expression is a liquid homage to sensory indulgence. To capture this spirit of extravagance, the blenders at Compass Box selected rich single malts and finished them in an array of sweet wine casks. The heart of the blend features malt whisky from the Balmenach Distillery finished in Sauternes casks, combined with whiskies from Linkwood finished in Madeira casks, Glen Elgin finished in Marsala casks, and a portion of Clynelish aged in first-fill sherry butts. The result is a wonderfully opulent, sweet, and textured whisky that evokes decadent flavors of dried fruits, rich toffee, and fragrant wood spice.
