Rather than relying on heavy peat or dominant oak, this expression is deliberately designed to showcase the delicate, fresh fruit characteristics inherent in specific malt distillates. Sourced from some of Scotland's most respected distilleries celebrated for their fruitiness—including Linkwood and Clynelish—the spirit is aged primarily in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels to preserve its bright aromas of green apples, ripe pears, and zesty citrus. The name itself evokes the image of a sun-drenched orchard in late summer, celebrating the blender's art of coaxing out delicate, ester-driven notes without the heavy masking of active wood.

Established in 2000 by visionary blender John Glaser, Compass Box is an independent boutique Scotch whiskymaking house dedicated to reimagining the traditions of blending. Operating out of its blending studio in Richmond, London, with warehouse maturation bases in Scotland, the firm approaches Scotch with the exacting philosophy of an artisan winemaker. Rather than relying on standard industrial recipes, Compass Box sources premier malt and grain distillates across Scotland, aging them in bespoke cooperage using toasted virgin French and American oak to highlight distinct structural and aromatic elements.
