Compass Box's Orchard House is a masterclass in capturing the vibrant, ester-rich, and fruit-forward spectrum of Scotch whisky. Rather than relying on heavy peat or dominant oak, this expression is deliberately designed to showcase the delicate, fresh fruit characteristics inherent in specific malt distillates. Sourced from some of Scotland's most respected distilleries celebrated for their fruitiness—including Linkwood and Clynelish—the spirit is aged primarily in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels to preserve its bright aromas of green apples, ripe pears, and zesty citrus. The name itself evokes the image of a sun-drenched orchard in late summer, celebrating the blender's art of coaxing out delicate, ester-driven notes without the heavy masking of active wood.
