First released in 2013 to celebrate a decade of one of Compass Box's most famous creations, The Peat Monster 10th Anniversary edition represents a milestone in the art of modern whisky blending. Founder John Glaser designed this limited release to push the boundaries of the classic Peat Monster profile, delivering a deeper, richer, and more complex experience. This blended malt combines heavily peated single malts from Islay—specifically featuring components from Caol Ila and Laphroaig—with a touch of peated Highland malt. Matured in a combination of first-fill and refill American oak casks, along with a small portion finished in custom toasted French oak, this expression balances intense, earthy peat smoke and maritime salinity with a surprising core of sweet orchard fruits, vanilla, and baking spices. It stands as a testament to the philosophy that peat is not just about power, but also about elegance and complexity.

Established in 2000 by visionary blender John Glaser, Compass Box is an independent boutique Scotch whiskymaking house dedicated to reimagining the traditions of blending. Operating out of its blending studio in Richmond, London, with warehouse maturation bases in Scotland, the firm approaches Scotch with the exacting philosophy of an artisan winemaker.
