Crafted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary Chicago punk rock whisky bar, Delilah's, this expression is a masterclass in collaborative blending by Compass Box's John Glaser and Delilah's owner Mike Miller. The liquid history of this release is fascinating: it incorporates a parcel of the original 2013 Compass Box Delilah's blend that had been further aged in active American oak hollow-head casks, which was then artfully married with single malts matured in Spanish Sherry casks (both Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez). This unique maturation bridge yields a spirit that honors the energy of its namesake bar, offering a beautiful tension between the sweet, creamy vanilla notes of American oak and the rich, spicy, dried-fruit complexity of traditional Sherry casks.
