Amelia was launched in 1993 as Concha y Toro's pioneer ultra-premium Chardonnay, designed to showcase the ultimate potential of Chilean white wines. Named in honor of the pioneering spirit of the women in the founding family, this limited-release wine underwent a significant stylistic evolution when winemaker Marcelo Papa transitioned its sourcing to the cool-climate, limestone-rich soils of the northern Limarí Valley. The grapes benefit from the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean and the morning Camanchaca fog, which rolls over the Quebrada Seca vineyard. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels, Amelia beautifully marries a rich, creamy texture from lees contact with a vibrant, flinty minerality and a distinctive saline finish characteristic of its unique coastal terroir.

Founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Concha y Toro and his wife Emiliana Subercaseaux, Viña Concha y Toro is Chile's preeminent wine producer and a cornerstone of South American winemaking history.
