✨ wine.spec_sheet

Steeped in one of the wine world's most famous legends, Casillero del Diablo (the 'Devil's Cellar') owes its name to the winery's founder, Don Melchor de Concha y Toro. To protect his finest private reserve from thieves, he spread the rumor that the devil himself guarded his dark, underground cellars. Today, this iconic Cabernet Sauvignon represents the quintessential Chilean expression of the grape, sourced from select vineyards across the fertile Central Valley. The wine is typically aged in American and French oak barrels, resulting in a structured yet approachable red characterized by rich notes of blackcurrant, dark plums, and subtle hints of vanilla, toast, and sweet spices.

Founded in 1883 by Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro and his wife, Emiliana Subercaseaux, Viña Concha y Toro is Chile's most historic and globally recognized winery, headquartered in the picturesque commune of Pirque within the Maipo Valley. Under the stewardship of the Guilisasti family since the mid-20th century, the estate has expanded its reach across Chile's premier terroirs, from the coastal breezes of Casablanca to the warm, clay-rich soils of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley. The winery is celebrated for its pioneering spirit and commitment to sustainability, producing world-class wines that showcase the diverse microclimates of Chile. Their portfolio is anchored by iconic expressions such as the critically acclaimed Carmín de Peumo Carmenere, the terroir-driven Terrunyo line, and the legendary, globally beloved Casillero del Diablo range.
