Concha y Toro's Gran Reserva Sauvignon Blanc, historically tied to their 'Serie Riberas' concept, highlights the cooling influence of Chile's river basins. Sourced from estate vineyards planted near the banks of the Rapel River in the coastal reaches of the Central Valley, the vines benefit from morning mists and cool breezes blowing off the Pacific Ocean. This unique microclimate slows grape ripening, allowing the development of intense aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity. The soils, rich in clay and granitic components, impart a distinct mineral edge to the wine. Concha y Toro utilizes these riverbank terroirs to showcase a fresher, more elegant side of Chilean viticulture, combining traditional New World fruit intensity with a crisp, mineral-driven structure.
🍾 Om vinhuset / producenten
Viña Concha y Toro blev grundlagt i 1883 af Don Melchor de Concha y Toro og hans hustru Emiliana Subercaseaux. Vinhuset er i dag Chiles mest fremtrædende producent og en absolut hjørnesten i sydamerikansk vinhistorie. Hovedsædet ligger i Pirque i den historiske Maipo Valley, og ejendommens fundament blev lagt med ædle franske vinstokke hentet direkte fra Bordeaux. Siden har porteføljen bredt sig til Chiles bedste dale, lige fra Limarí til Peumo. Concha y Toro forener banebrydende vinvidenskab med et kompromisløst fokus på bæredygtighed, og husets vine afspejler på smukkeste vis de alsidige mikroklimaer og jordbunde i Central Valley, Aconcagua og de sydlige regioner.
