Often referred to as the 'bad boy of Speyside,' this malt owes its muscular, sulfurous, and robust character to the distillery's stubborn insistence on using traditional copper worm tubs for condensation. This cooling method limits copper contact, leaving heavy, savory compounds in the spirit. The 13-year-old expression is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, resulting in a fascinating interplay of sweet, fruity notes like baked apples and toasted marshmallows, set against a backdrop of striking bonfire smoke, flint, and a signature meaty complexity.
