Crafted by the historic Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) at their state-of-the-art Viña Real winery, Bakeder is a beautiful homage to the Basque heritage of Rioja Alavesa. Its name translates from Basque as 'beautiful peace,' capturing the serene majesty of the ancient vineyards nestled around the medieval walled town of Laguardia. This village wine (Vino de Municipio) is made from 100% Tempranillo grown in clay-limestone soils at the foothills of the protective Sierra de Cantabria. To preserve the vibrant, terroir-driven character of Laguardia, the wine is aged for just under a year in French oak barrels. This modern approach yields a wine of exceptional purity, showcasing bright red berry fruits, delicate violet aromatics, and a distinct chalky minerality that reflects its unique microclimate.

Founded in 1879 by brothers Raimundo and Eusebio Real de Asúa, the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) is one of Rioja's foundational and most prestigious historic bodegas, headquartered in the iconic Barrio de la Estación in Haro, Spain. Still under the stewardship of the founding family's descendants, CVNE harmoniously bridges traditional winemaking heritage with pioneering technical innovation across its distinct estates and cellars. The estate is celebrated for crafting world-renowned, age-worthy wines characterized by elegance, structure, and balance, predominantly driven by Tempranillo and native Riojan varieties.
