Founded in 1879 by the Real de Asúa brothers in Haro's legendary Barrio de la Estación, CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España) is a cornerstone of Rioja winemaking. The name 'Cune' famously originated from an early clerical misspelling where the 'V' was printed as a 'U', a mistake that became an iconic brand. The Cune Gran Reserva represents the pinnacle of traditional Rioja aging. Crafted primarily from Tempranillo blended with small portions of Graciano and Mazuelo, the grapes are sourced from estate vineyards in Rioja Alta characterized by clay-limestone soils and an Atlantic-influenced climate. In accordance with strict Gran Reserva regulations, the wine undergoes extensive aging, spending at least 24 months in oak barrels followed by a minimum of 36 months maturing in the bottle. This patient process yields a deeply complex red wine boasting integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and a bouquet of dried red fruits, leather, balsamic notes, and sweet spices.

Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE) blev grundlagt i 1879 af brødrene Raimundo og Eusebio Real de Asúa og er et af Riojas mest prestigefyldte og historiske vinhuse, med base i det ikoniske Barrio de la Estación i Haro.
