Viña Real, a historic brand established by CVNE in the 1920s, represents the elegant, terroir-driven side of Rioja Alavesa. The name pays tribute to the ancient Camino Real that once ran near the vineyards. Sourced primarily from the clay-limestone slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria, this Reserva is crafted predominantly from Tempranillo, complemented by traditional blending partners like Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo. The wine is vinified in CVNE's state-of-the-art, gravity-fed winery in Laguardia, then aged for nearly two years in a combination of French and American oak casks. This meticulous process yields a classic Rioja that beautifully balances ripe red berry fruit, refined tannins, and complex notes of sweet spice, leather, and balsamic.
