✨ Technical Specifications
Delas Frères' Vacqueyras 'Domaine des Genêts' is a classic expression of the Southern Rhône, drawing its name from the vibrant yellow broom shrubs (genêts) that blanket the local landscape. The wine is sourced from the stony, sun-drenched terraces of Vacqueyras, where the soil is rich in alluvial deposits and rounded pebbles (galets roulés) that absorb heat during the day and radiate it back to the vines at night. This terroir, combined with the cooling Mistral wind, yields a robust and aromatic red wine. Traditionally crafted with a dominant portion of Grenache blended with Syrah and Mourvèdre, the wine undergoes traditional vinification in closed tanks with daily pumping over to extract color and tannins, followed by aging in vats to preserve the pure, spicy fruit character and garrigue-infused aromatics typical of this historic appellation.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1835 by Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas, Maison Delas Frères is an iconic Rhône Valley estate headquartered in Tain-l'Hermitage. Now part of the Champagne Louis Roederer family of estates, the house underwent a major quality renaissance through modern cellar innovations and meticulous vineyard stewardship across both the Northern and Southern Rhône. Delas manages prestigious parcels across heralded appellations including Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Renowned for its precision winemaking, the estate crafts deeply expressive, terroir-driven wines, from powerful, mineral-tinged Syrahs like Les Bessards and La Landonne to aromatic, textural Viogniers like Clos Boucher.
