✨ Technical Specifications

Delas Frères' 'Haute Pierre' is a distinguished expression of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the crown jewel of the Southern Rhône. The name 'Haute Pierre' pays homage to the iconic terroir of the region, characterized by the famous 'galets roulés'—large, smooth quartzite stones deposited by ancient glaciers. These stones absorb the intense Mediterranean sun during the day and radiate heat back to the low-trained vines at night, fostering optimal ripeness. Crafted primarily from Grenache and Syrah sourced from select clay-limestone and sandy plots, this wine undergoes traditional vinification in concrete vats followed by careful maturation in oak foudres. The result is a robust, deeply aromatic red that captures the historical essence of the papal enclave, blending rich dark fruit with the classic herbal, spicy notes of garrigue.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1835 by Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas, Maison Delas Frères is an iconic Rhône Valley estate headquartered in Tain-l'Hermitage. Now part of the Champagne Louis Roederer family of estates, the house underwent a major quality renaissance through modern cellar innovations and meticulous vineyard stewardship across both the Northern and Southern Rhône. Delas manages prestigious parcels across heralded appellations including Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Renowned for its precision winemaking, the estate crafts deeply expressive, terroir-driven wines, from powerful, mineral-tinged Syrahs like Les Bessards and La Landonne to aromatic, textural Viogniers like Clos Boucher.
