Hailing from the rugged, sun-drenched slopes of the southern Rhône, Delas Frères' Gigondas 'Les Reinages' is a powerful testament to one of the region's most dramatic terroirs. The appellation of Gigondas, whose name derives from the Latin 'Jocunditas' meaning great pleasure or amusement, was originally established by Roman soldiers of the Second Legion. 'Les Reinages' is crafted from grapes grown on the stony, limestone-rich clay soils situated at the foot of the jagged Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range. This unique microclimate benefits from the cooling Mistral wind and intense Mediterranean sun, yielding a wine of remarkable concentration and structure. Delas utilizes traditional vinification with controlled temperatures, followed by careful aging in both oak foudres and traditional vats to balance the robust, spicy character of the terroir with vibrant, ripe fruit expression.
