Named in honor of the historic 16th-century knight and governor of Vienne, Laurent de Maugiron, this Côte-Rôtie is a masterful expression of the Northern Rhône's legendary steep slopes. Delas crafts this cuvée by blending fruit sourced from both the Côte Blonde and the Côte Brune. This marriage of terroirs brings together the granite-rich, iron-heavy soils of the Brune, which impart structure and deep dark fruit, with the limestone-dominant soils of the Blonde, yielding floral elegance and silkiness. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation in open concrete vats followed by aging in oak barrels, resulting in a classic Côte-Rôtie that balances power with remarkable finesse, marked by signature aromas of black fruits, licorice, and smoky bacon fat.
