Hailing from the rugged, picturesque landscapes of the Ardèche department on the right bank of the Rhône River, this wine showcases Delas's ability to craft expressive, terroir-driven wines outside of the prestigious crus. The Ardèche, known for its dramatic limestone gorges and volcanic remnants, provides a warm Mediterranean climate tempered by cool alpine winds. This unique microclimate allows the Syrah grape to ripen fully while retaining its signature freshness and vibrant acidity. Delas sources fruit from carefully selected vineyards where vines cling to stony terraces. The winemaking philosophy here emphasizes fruit purity and varietal expression, utilizing temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in stainless steel or large oak vats to preserve the bright, peppery, and berry-forward character of the grape. Maison Delas Frères blev grundlagt i 1835 af Charles Audibert og Philippe Delas og er et ikonisk vinhus i Rhône-dalen med hovedsæde i Tain-l'Hermitage. Huset er i dag en del af Champagne Louis Roederers familie af vingårde og har gennemgået en markant kvalitetsmæssig renæssance takket være moderne kældermetoder og et kompromisløst fokus på vinmarksarbejdet i både det nordlige og sydlige Rhône. Delas råder over prestigefyldte parceller i berømte appellationer som Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu og Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Ejendommen er anerkendt for sin præcise vinifikation og skaber dybt udtryksfulde, terroir-drevne vine – lige fra kraftfulde, mineralske Syrah-vine som Les Bessards og La Landonne til aromatiske og teksturrige Viognier-vine som Clos Boucher.
