✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted from vineyards situated across calcareous-clay marls in the Monferrato hills, this red blend draws upon classic regional varieties—predominantly Barbera partnered with varieties such as Dolcetto, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Freisa. Controlled-temperature fermentation in stainless steel preserves vibrant primary fruit character, followed by partial maturation in oak casks to soften tannins and impart subtle spice without obscuring regional freshness.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1934 by Luigi Dezzani Sr., Cantine Dezzani is nestled in the high-elevation village of Cocconato d'Asti, positioned nearly 500 meters above sea level within the hill country known as the Riviera del Monferrato. This distinct enclave benefits from a temperate microclimate, sheltered amphitheaters, and calcareous-clay marls that foster optimal aromatic concentration and balanced acidity. Over decades of stewardship led by Romolo Dezzani and winemaker Luigi Dezzani Jr., the winery transitioned from a local estate to an international ambassador for Monferrato viticulture, eventually partnering with the multi-generational Rocca family and regional growers. The house winemaking philosophy marries authentic Piedmontese typicity with stainless-steel precision and measured oak cask maturation. Benchmark bottlings include structured Barbera d'Asti Superiore, expressive Albarossa, and regional cuvées such as Monferrato Rosso and Piemonte Nebbiolo Barbera blends, all emphasizing pure varietal expression, supple tannins, and vibrant gastronomic acidity.
