✨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the pioneering biodynamic estate Domaine Dirler-Cadé, this Pinot Noir Rosé is a beautiful expression of Alsace's sole permitted red grape. While Alsace is globally renowned for its white wines, Pinot Noir has a deep historical footprint in the region, dating back to the Middle Ages when red and rosé wines from Alsatian slopes were highly prized by nobility across Europe. Dirler-Cadé coaxes exceptional purity from their vines using meticulous biodynamic farming and horse-drawn plowing, which preserves the delicate soil structure of their Bergholtz vineyards. This rosé is typically produced via direct pressing or a very short maceration, resulting in a pale, shimmering salmon hue. It captures the cool-climate energy of the region, balancing bright red berry fruit with a subtle, stony minerality derived from the complex clay, limestone, and sandstone soils.
🍾 About the Producer
Established in 1871 in the southern Alsatian village of Bergholtz, Domaine Dirler-Cadé represents the union of two historic winegrowing families, merged in 2000 following the marriage of Jean Dirler and Ludivine Cadé. A pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Alsace, the estate converted its vineyards to biodynamics in 1998 to respect natural biodiversity and preserve soil vitality. Their prime vineyard holdings encompass historic Grands Crus—including Kessler, Kitterlé, Saering, and Spiegel—alongside distinct lieux-dits such as Belzbrunnen and Schimberg. Dirler-Cadé is globally renowned for its bone-dry, terroir-driven Rieslings, vibrant Pinot Gris, aromatic Gewurztraminers, and finely textured Crémant d'Alsace sparkling wines.
