Domaine Bruno Clair's Grand Cru red portfolio represents the absolute pinnacle of the Côte de Nuits, featuring legendary parcels in Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and Bonnes-Mares. The history of these vineyards is deeply intertwined with the Clair family legacy, stemming from the historic split of the famed Clair-Daü estate. In Clos de Bèze, one of Burgundy's oldest documented vineyards dating back to the 7th-century monks of the Abbey of Bèze, the domaine tends to old vines planted in the 1910s and 1940s. In Bonnes-Mares, their plots span both the clay-rich 'terres rouges' and the limestone-dominant 'terres blanches', yielding a wine of immense structural complexity. Bruno Clair and winemaker Philippe Brun employ traditional, low-intervention methods, utilizing partial whole-cluster fermentation and aging in fine French oak. Domaine Bruno Clair blev grundlagt i 1979 af Bruno Clair, som dermed viderefører en glorværdig vinarv efter sin bedstefar, Joseph Clair, manden bag det berømte Domaine Clair-Daü fra 1919. Domænet har hjemsted i Marsannay-la-Côte i den nordligste del af Côte de Nuits og voksede markant i 1980'erne, da en række af familiens oprindelige parceller i Bourgognes mest prestigefyldte appellationer blev genforenet under vinhuset. Med udgangspunkt i et omhyggeligt, bæredygtigt markarbejde efter økologiske principper og en nænsom vinificering i kælderen lægger domænet vægt på renhed, præcision og et uforfalsket terroitudtryk i både røde, hvide og rosé-vine.
