The 2020 Échezeaux Grand Cru represents a masterclass in navigating an exceptionally warm and dry Burgundy growing season. Harvested in late August—one of the earliest starts in the region's modern history—this vintage yielded small, concentrated berries of remarkable intensity. Sourced from the estate's parcels within the Les Poulaillères and Clos St-Denis climats, the wine is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir and aged in new French oak casks. The 2020 expression is defined by a brooding, dark-fruit profile of black cherries and damson plums, interwoven with signature notes of dried rose petals, Asian spices, and forest floor. Despite the solar nature of the vintage, the wine retains a striking, vibrant acidity and a dense, muscular tannic structure that ensures a legendary cellaring potential.
