This wine is crafted from old Pinot Noir vines split between the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. This dual-terroir sourcing is highly unusual and provides a beautiful synergy: the parcels near Volnay contribute silky, floral elegance and bright red fruit, while the parcels near Gevrey-Chambertin inject structure, earthy depth, and dark spice. Boillot's traditional, low-intervention approach—employing destemmed fruit, gentle extraction, and aging in older French oak barrels—allows this diverse terroir to speak clearly, resulting in a remarkably complex, pure, and vibrant expression of Burgundy.

Domaine Louis Boillot was established in the early 2000s when vigneron Louis Boillot, continuing a multi-generational family winemaking legacy originally rooted in Volnay, established his operations in Chambolle-Musigny alongside his partner, acclaimed winemaker Ghislaine Barthod. The domaine commands an enviable collection of exceptionally old vines spanning both the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, encompassing prestigious parcels in Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Volnay, and Pommard. Employing meticulous vineyard management and non-interventionist cellar practices, Boillot focuses on gentle extraction and balanced oak maturation to let each distinct terroir shine.
