This historic vineyard, situated in the Santenay appellation, derives its evocative name from the legendary Knights of Malta, who historically held influence and land in this part of Burgundy. The terroir here is characterized by a unique soil composition of damp limestone and clay, which forces the vines to dig deep for nutrients. This struggle yields a Pinot Noir of remarkable structure, balancing bright red fruit character with a distinct, earthy minerality.
